Tonight my twin and I were talking about beauty. What is beauty? In our society it's twig thin. Doesn't matter what color of hair you have or eye color or skin color...as long as your thin your pretty. Add a little curve and society deems you not so pretty.
I do NOT agree and neither does my twin. We talked about how great woman like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Mae West, Betty Page, and all the pin-up girls with their curves and non curves were gorgeous and how society needs to change their perception of beauty.
Marilyn Monroe said that "All little girls should be told they are pretty, even if they aren't." I would like to paraphrase, "Everyone should be told they are pretty no matter what."
I propose a movement to show that everyone is beautiful, in their own unique way. I say we shout it from the mountain tops, from the buildings, "We are beautiful! I am Beautiful!"
