Scary, Creepy, Freaky, & Supernatural

It's my favorite time of the year, October.  How I adore this month.  You get cooler weather, at least where I live, pretty colors, and Halloween.  My absolute favorite holiday.  Why?  Because I can dress like a slut without actually being a slut.  Just kidding.

Halloween is my favorite holiday.  I love the aspect of being able to dress up as anyone or anything I want.  Like last year I was a tarnished Fairy Tale Princess.  Most people assumed that I go knocked up and that was why I was tarnished.  I didn't, I just didn't like my Prince and ran off.  It was fun.  This year I am going as a Masquerade girl.  I'm making my own mask and my grandma and friends are helping me with it.  I can't wait.

I also like the back story of Halloween.  All the superstitions behind everything, for instance why do we have Jack-O-Lanterns and why do we dress up and what's with the candy giving.  They all have really neat stories behind them.
The origins begin with the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain.  The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. Samhain was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and prepare for winter. They believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops. The festival would frequently involve bonfires. It is believed that the fires attracted insects to the area which attracted bats to the area. These are additional attributes of the history of Halloween. (Found at the website below.)
http://www.halloweenhistory.org/.  Check out that website for more info on how Halloween evolved.  IF you continue on it tells you the story of the Jack-O-Lantern.  If you want to learn more about Halloween history just type it in.

You can't forget the other great part about Halloween.  The scary movies.  I hate them because I can never sleep afterwards and love them because I like being scared and the interesting story lines.  I find it funny that the movies that could actually happen, Like Halloween, or Fatal Attraction, or even House of Wax don't freak me out nearly as much as the ones that really couldn't, like Poltergeist, or Pet  Semetary.   My all time favorite scary movie is Scream with Hitchcock's Vertigo as a close second.  I absolutely love Hitchcock's movies.  They are the suspenseful scary as opposed to the blood and guts scary.   Personally the suspense scary are more frightening than the blood and guts.  Check out Hitchcock's movies if you haven't.  Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo, and Rear Window are really good.

It's been real, off to read some scary stories before bed.  Why do I do this to myself?  What are some of your favorite scary movies or stories?

Just Wondering...

Hey all, my first blog...
Sounds exciting, like an action movie.  I love action movies, you get hot guys, awesomely epic explosions and usually a little bit of romance.  I will admit that I am a romantic at heart.  Not many people believe me when I say that, mostly because I'm the one that sarcastically replies when someone says something mushy or start to laugh when a guy winks at me or nods.  I can't help it, they look so silly.
If you can't tell, I tend to drift off oddly.  I actually do that when speaking too, probably part of the reason I had trouble in speech class.  Of course, have trouble speaking in front of people could be a part of that as well...food for thought...
Well darlings, do you mind if I refer to you as darlings?  I will anyway or other endearments, not baby though.  I hate that endearment.  It's so overused.
Well Duckies,
it's been sweet.  Talk soon.
